Flu Vaccinations

Patients who are 65 or older on 31st March 2015 are eligible for vaccination, along with any patient under 65 who has any of the following: Chronic Lung Disease, Diabetes, Heart problems, Liver or Kidney Disease, Lowered Immunity, Neurological Disease or is pregnant. To book your vaccination call 01279 621900.

 

Protecting your child against flu

Information for the parents of all two and three year old children and those living in areas offering the flu vaccinations to pre and primary school aged children.  You will be contacted by your GP or through your child's school about getting your child vaccinated. Patient Decision Aids

Patient Decision Aids (PDAs) are designed to help patients make difficult decisions about their treatments and medical tests.

They are used when there is no clinical evidence to suggest that one treatment is better than another and patients need help in deciding which option will be best for them.

Free NHS Health Check

As part of a National NHS campaign, the Surgery is offering free health checks to patients aged between 40 and 74 who do not currently suffer with diabetes, stroke, kidney and heart disease.

Appointments are available on weekdays and Saturday mornings. Please contact reception.

 Welcome to Addison House Surgery

Addison House Surgery in Harlow, Essex consists of eight GPs, two Nurse Practitioners, one Practice Nurse, two Health Care Assistants as well as our Practice Manager, Assistant Practice Manager, Reception and Administration staff providing medical care to approximately 13,000 patients.

We offer a full general practice service and run many clinics for the management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes as well as a wide variety of other medical services including antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery and childhood vaccinations.

This website has been set in place to provide you with everything you need to know about the practice and you will also find a wealth of health-related information.

Telephone Consultations

Addison House Surgery actively promotes all forms of communication with patients towards providing a safe, prompt and cost effective service. Telephone consultations by clinicians are used daily towards effective assessment of most appropriate management plan for patients. We also use SMS messaging for appointment reminders and patient messaging.

A significant amount of patients' enquiries are effectively dealt with by telephone consultations. Outcomes from telephone consultations include healthcare advice, options for emergency same day appointments as well as advanced appointments at a time convenient for patients.

CQC Inspection 2014

A copy of Addison House Surgery CQC Inspection Report of January 2014 is available via CQC website.

Subsequent Addison House CQC Intelligent Report of November 2014 has identified certain parameters of concern.

We will address the areas of concern promptly and remain fully commited to providing a safe, prompt and courteous service to all our patients.

No issue of compromised patient safety has been raised by these assessments.
