Phone Consultations

You can book to have an emergency telephone consultation with the duty doctor or you can request for your GP or nurse to call you back regarding non-urgent matters. He or she will ring you on the telephone number that you have given. If giving a mobile number please ensure that you are available to take the call, as the doctor may only make one or two attempts to contact you. Phone consultations should be booked via reception. All calls are recorded for quality and training purposes.

Addison House Surgery actively promotes all forms of communication with patients towards providing a safe, prompt and cost effective service. Telephone consultations by clinicians are used daily towards effective assessment of most appropriate management plan for patients. We also use SMS messaging for appointment reminders and patient messaging.

A significant amount of patients’ enquiries are effectively dealt with by telephone consultations. Outcomes from telephone consultations include healthcare advice, options for emergency same day appointments as well as advanced appointments at a time convenient for patients.
